Almost everyone starting their journey into the 3D world starts with some reflective balls... 
I was doing it, too.
Now, after years, here it is: 'Reflective balls strike back!'
OK, this is a double helix of balls, along with the metal bars (something like a DNA...)
It was modeled and raytraced in a pure POV-Ray 3.5.
